Frosted vinyl
A translucent film that looks like etched or sandblasted glass, used for privacy bands and elegant window lettering.
Frosted vinyl lets light through but blurs the view, like etched glass. It is used for privacy on conference rooms and bathroom windows, and for logos and lettering that look built in rather than stuck on.
It can be cut two ways: the design cut out of a solid frosted band, so the letters show as clear glass, or the letters themselves in frost on clear glass.
Frosted film usually goes on the inside of the glass, where weather and window washing cannot reach it. To read correctly from outside, it is cut in mirror image.
